The TV critics get trumped by someone who was actually at the race and has a true perspective. You can't argue with that.

the new track makes for good racing.
we were at bristol, maybe what was on tv made it appear not to be good racing. When kasey khane was trying to lap jeff green it seemed like they were side by side for at least 40 laps. that was going on all over the track. the problem was that after the leader put a lap on a car, the second and third place cars still had to race the lap down cars just as hard as the leader. part of that was due to the lucky dog, if the lapped car let second and third by probably they would get passed by another car that was a lap down. we were sitting where we could see the flagman and for the most part they didn't use the move over flag. my wife made the comment that michael waltrip was in the way several times (what else is new), but i didn't ever see him get the move over flag. it was the first race on the new track give everyone a chance to figure it out and i'm sure it will get better. can't wait till next year

I kinda like the "KING FURIOUS" version best

Sincerely, King James

Won't remember a whole lot about that race myself...

But simply because I was watching the Browns beat the Broncos @ the same time & only had the sound on for the Browns/Broncos game

Oh wait...I will remember I was glad I traded Hamlin away when I saw his car go up in Smoke

But then mad when I saw Matt Kenseth being interviewed when the race was going on as it was Kenseth I traded Hamlin for
!

Nothin' is as EXCITING as

which is it????

it is the way i say when i say and if i say something completly different next week both ways are true even if they contradict each other there by making me king of the world.

Alright back to reality
I liked bristol just the way it was. Bristol was mean, nasty, unpredictable, and often ended with me shaking my head and saying WOW.
Now not so nasty not so mean just another neutered track.

I never had a complaint about Bristol. Now the way the track is makes me think of the movie "The One Who Flew Over the Coo Coo's Nest".
Remember when jack nicholson got the labotomy

Axis think of it this way. I know for a fact everyone who watched the bristol race in march of 2006 remembers jeff gordon wrecking truex. then after the yellow truex trying to pin gordon to the outside and stewart finishing truex off. then kenseth trying a failing bump and run on gordon. as a result of the failed bump and run gordon ended up falling out of the top 5 and finising in the 20's. after the race kenseth approaching gordon and gordon pushing kenseth.
then in the second race of the year after the race was over gordon had riggs in his face because riggs was pissed at gordon for holding him off for several laps.

my point being i can still recall alot of events in those races and i doubt i will forget them. with that being said i have to ask you do you think anyone will remember the race they saw saturday night (carl edwards does not count LOL)

But that car didn't win. Maybe Nascar is slipping and forgot to throw the bunch up caution? Who knows? Track surfaces don't last forever.
Fast-N-Furious Posted - 08/26/2007 : 1:04:13 PM
the race was lame it came down to a race where one car was leading the large majority of the event.
this race was a snoozer almost as boring as F1

Yeah, who wants two and a half grooves of racing and passing on the right when we could have a freight train of cars only running the bottom and having to crash out the driver in front of them to make a pass? Let's go back to one groove racing so people gripe about dropping the track altogether.

New surfaces rule. Don't you like it when an old crappy road gets resurfaced or do you like the potholes and bumps? Then they bring a tire way too hard and the racing suffers.

Now as far as the COT, it is intended to bring down costs, which it is doing. Teams need far fewer cars and they are much tougher than the old cars. They may not perform as well as the old cars, but we are talking about stock cars here. If you want performance, you are watching the wrong series. (I am a fan however of the old cars but Nascar has to f*ck with success since there might be a dime unclaimed somewhere under a rock.)

Haven't you noticed the ticket prices coming down because of the COT savings? You haven't? Well, you never will because Nascar is all about putting money in their pockets. They won't allow Jeff Burton to run AT&T on his car since that means money to him but they will allow AT&T to buy commercial time and to sponsor their stupid in-race fan polls because it means money to Nascar. What a bunch of hypocritical dicks! The fans need to ask them why it is ok for a competitor to Nextel to buy commercial time from Nascar but not from a race team to keep them racing.

So Nascar gets a court injunction to keep Childress from running the AT&T sponsorship, but with the #31 running with no sponsorship, they become the only car that you notice who the sponsor is, or usually is. I then begin to wonder if the management of Nascar are just money-grubbing *******s or marketing geniuses? I am leaning towards the former.

Well....I thought it was a great improvement....with good racing! Drivers couldn't race on the old surface....with the new banking and racing surface there was racing all around the track.......the old way wasn't much more than a demo derby.....with very expensive cars........
