The only thing the Ford drive train has going for it is the rear differential and NASCAR mandated it into all the Makes!

Doug Yates has to be pulling his hair out. Jarrett expires the new experimental block and Martin's more conservitive call to go with the original goes up in smoke too.

What's up with the Ford's Is it the equipment or is it possibly an overtaxed engine program? Wonder if Rousch brought this plague with him. The Yates camp didn't have these problems last year. Did they

Not as often as they do this year...the only good Fords are the 38 of Elliott Sadler and maybe Rubberhead 17 of Kenseth in the top 10. Chevy and Dodge rule right now

Bouth Roush & Yates had problems with the Motors last year! There has just been more emphasis on it this year since they are working together! You see just about as many chevy`s & Dodges blow too! But their are so many of them on the track you really don`t pay it any attention!
Plus the annoucers mention the Roush/yates everytime a ford engine blows! And they keep saying will 1 of the other Fords blow too they have to be worried that so & so might blow too!

I forgot to mention Jeff Burton. He popped an engine too. Rousch/Yates/Wood have 8 Fords in the field and 3 let go! I'm thinkin it's a real liability to put a Ford on your team. A 5th of the field is Ford horsepower. Factor in the small teams that nobody picks and that's a 3rd of the field that is off limits. I want to see this problem go away! Pronto! Sponsership is already a growing problem. A sputtering engine program in the Ford camp will only exaserbate the sponsership flight from the sport.

Not sure I agree on the other makes having problems. Gnassi and Penski had some issues with thier Dodge programs but Everingham hasn't. Hendrick, DEI, and Childress havn't lost an engine this year yet have they

It is intresting that the 17 and 38 rarely expire. Maybe once for Sadler and the 17 hasn't crapped out yet. With the Ford teams it seems to be fiest or famine. One thing is evident...Fords lead the parade of DNF's due to engine experation.

I'm reminded of the time I was cruising the loop in Renton, Washington back in 1974 in my 64 Impala SS. I was doing a lot of drag racing that night and the race would always start at the same light on the loop. Everytime about 3/4's of a block after that light I would pull ahead and leave them way behind. After about 10 races I say to my friend Gordy "I got the hotest car on the loop tonight" to which my friend replies "no, everyone else is stopping at the red light you keep running." Well, I decide I'm going a bit too nuts so I decide it's time to leave but at the last light before the freeway some guy pulls up and wants to race and I couldn't say no. Big Mistake. Got pulled over going 90mph in a 30 mph zone and got a Reckless Driving ticket and also got busted for illegal posession.
