What is the fastest you ever drove. Me I was up to 110 mph. I was crazy in high school. I always wanted to be the first one home. I was a pretty good driver in high school. Until my dad found out. Hehe

Over 140 every chance I got.Cause the speedo only went to that. And it took 1 mile fer it to start going below that after I started to coast.69 LeMands Conv. 2:90 gears. And did 14.2's in the 1/4.

There aint nothing like doing 140+mph in an unlimited desert off road car across a dry lake bed. Lake Diablo down in baja will always have special memories for me.

car.. or.. snowmobile

Mom and Dad had a 63 merc montery witch I believe a 403 (if I am right it was a engine ford did not use much) that the speedo meter went to 120. and I broke it a couple times til Dad made me start paying to fix it...(and took the keys for a extended time)

I bought a 1987 buick Grand National and the speed o only went to 100 but it had a factory chip that rev limited it at about 110 or so.. I put a hi rev chip in it and by manufactures specs I did 140... but to be honest I don't think so.. that car would have been trying to fly..

been clocked on snowmobile at 95 to 100 several times and it was not a drag machine.. It was my cross country and my oval race sled..

now I'm scared... dum dum dum..LOL

The speedo in my SS goes to 160. That's why I pay the big bucks for those Z rated tires but I've never had enough clear freeway to get it over 135.

In a 89 cougar that had a factory supercharger in it topped it out at 120 on the highway. With the car being so damn heavy, it was a pretty smooth ride.

I was a passenger in a buddy's 80 something Camero that he had the A/C removed and some performance package put in. Don't know how fast he was going, but that car was nothing but POWER. Sitting in the front seat was pretty awesome, didn't have the nerve to ask to him to let me drive. Knowing my luck something would of for sure gone wrong.

I also went 130 mph for about 60 seconds...It would have been longer, but I had to open the parachute @ 4000ft which made the rest of the drop take another 5 minutes @ 15mph till my feet where back on the ground.

Anything over 100 on a Harley is vibration almost beyond control...specially on a stroked hard tail!

OK this is a different posting, but here goes. On the Drag strip I/4 got up to 138, was not my car was a buddies but he was neverious about racing the car, it was a 1972 Chevy Nova with a 350, do not know horsepower of anything but know he had a superchager on it so Horse power sould be up there.

On an oval track have no idea since no speedo's are in cars but a few races I did know speeds were around 130 to 150 depending on track and that was like Nascar racing just for short periods only.

Then on the street I got a 67 AMC Marlin with a 343 Tyhoon motor, and a Chrysler 727 Tranny, and 4.11 gears all factory, and has a 160 speedo, have had that car up to just over 125 MPH.

Then my 1980 Trans Am Indy Pace Car, with a 301 V8 Turbo, (the same turbo setup that was installed on Buick Grand National V6's), speed is in Km. but after playing around with Factory settings on the Turbo unit, and factory Computer as primative as it was in those days, and getting more power from them. I got clocked at 232 KM, (about 140MPH I think if I did calcualtions correctly) per hour buy a friend who is a cop and used a radar gun.

Then I still have my 1974 Ford Maverick I used to drag race, but after I gave up drag racing, in early 80's, I changed gears in car so as to not go to fast on the street, but sure has some hole shot, it has a 302, 4 barrel carb, with headers and a few trick motor parts, a C6 trany, and 4.63 Gears, and Posi, in back end, for anyone who had no idea how LOW 4.63 gears are they will actully LIFT the front end off the ground if you mash the gas pedel. and even with an automatic trany it will burn rubber, G60's BG Goodrick Radial Tires, as it changes gears, and really pin you to the back of the seat, but car will not go past 50 MPH with those gears or will red line and BLOW the motor.

But those were the days now I drive like an Ole Lady on a sunday drive............ in other words I behave..........LOL

Back in 1975 for one weekend while living at Seattle International Raceway I had the use of a Yamaha 4 cylinder, double overhead cam, 4 valve per cylinder bike. There was nothing going on that weekend at the track so about every 20 minutes or so I go out and make some hot laps on the road course hitting 120mph through turn one and then a few hundred feet later braking hard for the lightly banked turn 2. It was exhilarating

ah now for exhilaration...
the california rice fields.... built in the foot hills east of Sacramento.(not flat ground...built amonst creeks with trees and groves...(not open ground) added with a dislike of flying... and ride in a cropduster..... dropping out of the sky to make a run.. just skimming acrossed the hill tops and tree tops and then drop down to ground level... acrossed the rice paddie and here come the next trees and or hillside and ,,hold on.. right sraight up.. a spin and turn and repeat.. non stop...and that coupled with the fact that the pilot is trying to make you get sick... wow... (he didn't ...I was to scared)
I would not do it again on a bet... but sure glad I did .....once..
