I'm on a new computer I got earlier this week and am having problems at NASCAR.com. Everything is fine on their opening page but when I click on the RACES tab is when I have the problem. After that page loads a new icon appears in my tray in the right corner and when I put my pointer on it it says Java Platform. Within a second or so after that icon appears I loose my internet screen, the screen goes back to my desktop and the Java Platform icon disappears. However, I'm still connected to the internet and have to use the computer connection icon in my tray to disconnect.
Anybody know whats going on? Is it the Norton Anti-viurs software or my IE security settings? Is it NASCAR.com trying to install the Java Platform on my computer?
Turner, thanks for the input. I just discovered that I don't have that problem if I use AOL, my backup ISP. I'm thiinking it has something to do with my main ISP, Juno. After I got this new computer I upgraded to Juno's newest version so maybe it's in their program or it's my security settings which I have set on high. I'll get it figured out one of these days when I have some time to troubleshoot it..
I had the same problem before the Busch race. Browser crashed each time I attempted to enter page. Bypassed the problem by starting NASCAR address in the address bar of the browser and then picking the full address of the results page (that's where I was trying to get to). After the race the page behaved correctly. Something was diffenently amiss with that page this morning.
