So what do ya'll think about moving dates around?
I have to admit, adding a Phoenix date was a bit of a suprise.
Mostly though, I'm disappointed it didn't really make it to court. I think a lot of interesting documents would have had to be disclosed if a trial had actually come about.
I visited another track this weekend, Martinsville. It's the third one I've been to this year, and by far the nastiest place I've visited. The place is a skanky pit... horrible facilities, not particularly helpful or knowledgable staff etc. I was totally disappointed in so many things about it. But, it's the France Family, so what do you expect??? SMI knows how to build and run a facility I tell you... I mean, Bristol and Lowe's... those tracks are flawless. ANYWAY, I digress...

I do like a nicer environment to see a race... I have no shame in admiting that... but it's also a lot of fun to watch one from the infield... it's where I'll probably see the Coke 600 next month...
The problem with Martinsville is the lack of a decent scoring tower, no tv screens, lack of bathrooms and concessions... we pay big money to see a race, and the France family pockets it instead of giving it back like the SMI tracks do.
Bristol... now that is an incredibly short track experience. If I can get tickets, I'll be there again in August.

I hate to see the older tracks keep losing their dates, especially when they end up going to the mile and a half cookie cutter track in their place. Phoenix isn't a cookie cutter but is a boring track. Still all boils down to MONEY!!
As far as the law suit going to court, it's almost scary what might have come out of that one!! |
