Stremme Heading To Nextel Cup In '06?: Sterling Marlin, says the team owner won't call him back about the status of Marlin's No. 40 car next season. "My contract is up after this year," Marlin says. "I guess you've got to make a change sometimes, but I'd like to know something soon so I can start looking." Marlin says a team was willing to buy out his contract last year, but he remained loyal to Ganassi. Multiple sources at Ganassi say Busch Series regular David Stremme will get the ride over Reed Sorenson because Sorenson is under 21 and the car's sponsor is Coors Light. . - FOX Sports |

Hey, thanks for the information...I've heard that aswell.
I also heard this morning that Sterling got fired and Reed will be in the 40 this weekend. I guess I'll have to wait to see qualifying if this is true. |

WOW, talk about SILLY SEASON, they keep getting earlier and earlier, guess next year silly season will start as the Green Flag Drops for the Daytona 500..........
Sorry to say Droppin, I am sure a BEER, Sponsor will not like a Driver of that young of an age to be driving their car, Just Economics..........now if McMurray was to take the #40 Coors Ride now that I see, and maybe Reed going into the #42 Texaco car!!!!
But now that Sterling is leaving the #40 Car look for him to go into the #2 Miller Car, Rusty's, or go to Roush, if not in the #6 Car, in one of the other ones maybe the #99, it also now Depends on who is going to pick up the sponsorship on the #6 Viagra car since they will not be on it next year either, their contract was for 8 years or for as long as Martin is in the car, which ever came first!!!!!!!!!!!

| Lol Tuner..Well, Sterling will qualify the car...I'm just hoping after he qualifies....they will make a driver change. Sounds like they won't though. Still keeping my fingers crossed though. I can't wait to see Reed in a cup race. |

I for one hope that Marlin DOES NOT go to Roush.....he doesn't play FAIR and is WAY to moody and Jack has enough with Moody Bifle..... Besides....if they have the 6 car back next year - no matter who is in it....unless it is MARK....it will not be the same!!!
I hope they retire that Number.....just can't see anyone else in it.....but, I would bet that it is an older driver in that spot....as they will be holding it open in 5 years for MATT!!! That's when he should turn 18 and be in daddy's spot! |
