WHAT'S NEW FOR THE 2000 SEASON?

1) Several Team Owners have requested a chat room. It will be ready by the start of the 2000 season.

2) The trading page will be opened on Monday as soon as the official race results are posted by *Nascar. If Nascar does make a scoring change on Monday the site will not be open until Tuesday because we will have to run the program over to correct the scoring. (Nascar scoring is usually correct when they post results on Sunday. On occasion they do make a change on Monday.) *Fantasy Thunder is not affiliated with Nascar.

3)  We will keep 13 races for total scoring instead of the 12 we used this season.

POSSIBLE RULE CHANGES FOR THE 2000 SEASON.

Final totals.

Thanks to all who participated!

1) Currently we pull driver values from 2 races back. The suggestion is to pull the values from 3 races back. The mindset for the change is that if you have a bad race with more than 3 drivers finishing poorly you can not get rid of all of them before the values change. The mindset to keep the system as it is now, is that it is easier to look back to the last race when picking drivers for the next race. (The Team Owners voted for this change for the 2nd half of  1998. We pulled from 3 back in the 1st half of 1998.)

2 Races Back.....59              3 Races back.......7

2) A driver who does not try to qualify for a race should not have their value reduced. Currently a driver who does not try to qualify has the same value reduction as a 43rd place finish. A driver who tries to qualify and misses the field has their value reduced the same as a 43rd place finish. The mindset is that why should a driver who tries to qualify for a race be penalized, and the driver who does not show up at the track would keep the same value.

No Reduction....18     More Reduction....7     99 Format...29

3) Drivers who only show up at 4 or 5 races a year be assigned a value at the beginning of a season and keep the same value for the entire season no matter how they finish in a certain race. This would eliminate a driver such as Earnhardt Jr going down in value the week after you buy him because he had not raced the previous race in which values were being pulled from.

Same Value......11               99 Format.....28

4) Do we want to establish a top end cap for the driver values? The mindset is that we have a low end cap. Why not a high end cap?

For....4                 Against......31

5) Do we want to go to every other race for value changes? The idea is to have "a breather" in between changes so you do not have to worry about it each race. Other owners like the weekly change as part of the challenge.

Every Other Race...5           99 Format...38

6) Drop only 4 races instead of the 5 we currently drop.

Drop 4 Races.....44                  Drop 5 Races......31

The above are only suggestions. In order for the rules to be changed we will need a majority of team owners wanting the change. We are here to administer the contest and we want our Team Owner's input on all rule changes.
