Last Day To Challenge Results!
7/11/2003 10:17:10 AM
Today is the last day to challange the results for the Pepsi 400. Steve Powell III of North Little Rock, AR is the unofficial winner with a score of 1089.

Steve is a first time player of our contest. As was the case in The Winston, these first time guys come in and beat up on some of our long time players.

Second Place belongs to Don Gerhardt of Temple PA with a score of 1081. Don is a long time player. He had a great race and took the 8th position too! Don normally does pretty good in the main contest but told me it has been a bad year to this point. He is happy to finally be in the winner's circle.

Third place belongs to Ruth Windhurst of Edmonds WA with a score of 1079. Ruth just celebrated her 85th birthday so she named her team Moms 85th B-Day for the one race event. Her team name in the main contest is Larrys Mom as her son Larry Blair (former champion of the main contest) got her into the contest in 1999. She beat her son by a landslide in this event.

Fourth place went to Melissa Courtney fron Evansville, IN with a score of 1078. Melissa was a newcomer to the contest for The Winston earlier this year. A good finish for the second time player. It will be interesting to see what she can do for the full eighteen race schedule if she joins the main contest.

Wayne Winans of Hartford MI took fifth place with a score of 1070. Wayne joined the main contest in 2003. He played in The Winston but this is his best finish.

Sixth place went to Rick Zura of Fort Mill, SC. Rick was a first time player for The Pepsi 400 and posted a score of 1069. Rick contacted us with a few questions about the trading site before he entered his teams. He may have been new to the site, but it is obvious that he knows how to play the contest!

Another new player Steve Servison of East Moline, IL took seventh with a 1065. It amazes us as to the quality of new players that entered the one race event. That makes four out of the top seven new players! Congrats to all of you! If you join the main contest you will add some stiff competition to our current players.

Eight place was Don Gerhardt at 1064 who we talked about earlier. Don was the second palce finisher and the top dog from the main contest.

Ninth place goes to Mike Moring of Evington VA with a 1061. Mike is one of our inagural players from the 1998 season. Mike started playing by phone and then converted to internet play in 2001. Mike usually does pretty well in the main contest so it is no surprise that he is a prize winner in this event.

Rounding out the top ten is the second place finisher of The Winston, Clair Rowin of Richland center WI with a 1060. Clair is a long time player who does many things to help promote the contest. We thank you for your help.

These results will be declared official on 7/12/03. Checks will be mailed out next week. Congradulations to all prize winner's. Thank You to all who entered. Watch for details soon on the next One Race Event.
