Kogwel Racing owner Conrad Welbon is in shock. After Race 13 he was in 1st Place by 21.06 points. He is now in 31st position 326.04 points out of 1st!
It is amazing how fast positions change and how close the point battle is. So do not give up on your team until the very end.
The Combined Season Contest is seeing a new leader for the first time in the 2nd Half of the Season. Our new leader is Steve Meyer. He has been close of late and opened up a 114.92 point lead over 1st Half Champion Phil Rushing.
Patty Streeter moved up to 3rd and trails our leader by 287.82 points. She was over 400 points out of first last week.
New to the top five is Jim Evans. He moved both of his teams into position with War eagle 111 in 4th and RAER Motorsports in 5th. Jim has played since the 1999 season and always has one of his teams near the top in the regular contest. This is the first time he has been this high in the Combined Season Scoring.

Top 5 Only 49 Points Apart
|
|

|
Former Champion Gary Bitner took the lead over Robin Marlin. The race for the 2nd Half Championship is the best we have seen in the five years of the contest. Only 49.06 points separate the top 5!
New to the top five this week is Jim Allen (Allens Alley) who trails Gary by only 38.06 points. Jim has played since 1999. He has never finished in the Grand prize money.
Harry Marlin (AAK Racing)is back in 4th place and trails our leader by 40.92 points. Harold Hicks (HRH Sports) fell to 5th but is only 49.06 points behind the leader.
The Combined Season Scoring is now up for grabs. Phil Rushing has a slim lead of 4 points! He had a huge lead a few weeks ago of over 250 points.
Steve Meyer has been keeping the pressure on and could take the lead with a good score this week.
Patty Streeter is now 252 points back. She was 408 points back last week so she is not out of it yet.
Greg williams is now in 4th place 265 points behind the leader. Rounding out the top 5 is Doug Menery owner of Dick Danger Racing. Doug is 318 points behind Phil.
With three races to go in the 2002 season the pressure is on. Three scores over 1000 could be enough to win the Championship. Best wishes to all contenders.
